As of December 1, 2021, British Columbia will be the first Canadian jurisdiction to recognize electronic wills.

Iqra Azhar
Associate
Iqra practices civil litigation with a focus on insurance defence and personal injury law. She has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Iqra joined Mackoff Mohamed as an associate after being called to the bar in 2019. During her articles, Iqra obtained extensive experience in civil litigation, wills and estates, real estate, and family law.
Iqra obtained her law degree from Thompson Rivers University in 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia. Prior to her law career, Iqra worked as a researcher for an international regulatory risk mitigation and anti-money laundering company.
Iqra is an executive board member of the South Asian Legal Clinic and the BC Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association. In her spare time, Iqra enjoys hiking, reading, and crossword puzzles. Iqra is fluent in both Urdu and Hindi.
